Michel Frieh

Before creating Frieh, Brault & Associés in 2018, Michel Frieh was a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Linklaters. He then established his own firm in 2007, which he successfully developed prior to bringing it to DLA Piper, where he organized the development of the Paris office that he managed from 2012 to 2017. A former judge, he is recognized as one of his generation’s best French counsels in his field.

He primarily advises private equity funds on leveraged buyouts, venture capital and growth capital, and industrial and service groups on equity financing, restructuring and acquisitions.

Michel Frieh advises clients who are active in a variety of business areas, such as finance and insurance, agri-food, retail and entertainment.

  • Michel advised Ardian as well as the founders and all other shareholders of Prosol (the main partner of the Grand Frais network) on the sale of a majority stake to Apollo and the significant reinvestment by the historical shareholders.
  • Michel advised Montefiore on the sale of its stake in the Xelians Group (formerly Archiveco).
  • Michel advised the shareholders of the asset management company Capital Croissance on a transaction involving the restructuring of its shareholding.
  • Michel advised the Pierre Sang Group and its management on the capital restructuring of the group.

  • Michel advised the founders and management of Capza on the sale of the group to AXA IM.
  • Michel advised Prosol and Ardian on the acquisition by Prosol (a member of the Grand Frais network) of the Novoviande butcher shop network.
  • Michel advised the Herez Signature Group on its merger with the Cyrus Patrimoine Group.
  • Michel advised Capital Croissance on the development of its impact venture capital platform through the integration of the MAIF Avenir team.
  • Michel advised the Federation Studios Group on the implementation of new debt facilities.

  • Michel advised the Federation Studios Group and its management on the capital restructuring of the group, the refinancing of its existing indebtedness, and the drawdown of new debt.
  • Michel advised Prosol (founding partner of the Grand Frais network) on the structuring of a strategic partnership project with the Casino Group.

  • Michel advised the Herez Signature Group and its management on the restructuring of the Herez Group.
  • Michel advised Prosol (founding partner of the Grand Frais network) on the acquisition of the Ocealliance Group from the Perceva fund.
  • Michel advised Montefiore on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Marot TC – TC Concept Group.

  • Michel advised Prosol (founding partner of the Grand Frais network) on the restructuring of its debt.
  • Michel advised the Emera Group on the acquisition of the LV Care nursing home group, a leading provider of senior care services in Ireland.

  • Michel advised Montefiore on the acquisition of the Ensio Group (formerly Sade Telecom) from Sade-CGTH (Veolia Group).
  • Michel advised the Herez Signature Group on Florac Investissements’ investment in its share capital.
2019
  • Michel advised the founders of Emera on the sale of the group to the Naxicap and Ardian funds and on their reinvestment in the acquisition holding company.
